Hi,There's your problem right there. The permissions should be as follows:
after several weeks of problem free use qmailadmin admin blocks every login for any domain with "login incorrect".
qmailadmin is located in the cgi-bin directory, has following user and rights:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 vpopmail vchkpw 100128 Feb 18 12:25 qmailadmin
-rwsr-sr-x 1 vpopmail vchkpw 99696 Apr 24 14:25 qmailadmin
My guess is you've got something like xsid installed, which will go through and change the id's periodically of files which are suid'd. If not then I'm slightly unsure.
The crux is that qmailadmin needs s bit permissions to work correctly.
The last time we used the program successfully was the 12 of June. On the 15th we recognized that it is not working anymore.
In between we didn't make any important changes to the system. Just
installed some webpages and cgi-scripts for uploading files.
This is a real riddle. I checked the domain-directory of vpopmail
All domains has the same rights and users:
drwx------ 3 vpopmail vchkpw 4096 May 24 15:13 test.com
The files within this directoties has mostly
-rw------- 1 vpopmail vchkpw
I checked if something would have changes on the vpasswd-files. But there last change was in May.
I insert a new domain with vadddomain and tried to access this. But for this new domain I get the same error message in qmailadmin "Login incorrect".
Maybe it has something to do with the way the programm ist reading the passwords from the vpasswd-files?
Does anybody has ever had the same problem and found a solution? Does anybody ever found out the reason. I read about the same problem several times in the archiv of this list, but never found a real solution. Would the reinstall of qmailadmin the only solution?
Ciao Heiko
