Hi,

Obviously it was my mistake when configuring disk partitions. On my other installations I always mounted my apache partition as suid. This time I mounted http document root partition not the whole apache installation. Stupid mistake.

Thank you.

You have your /var mounted with "nosuid". This stops any programs with the suid bit from changing their effective user. Remount the file system without "nosuid".

Tell us more about how you're running Apache. Is it running as the
vpopmail user? Is it chroot'ed?

I would guess the same as you. If Apache isn't running as your vpopmail
user, I'd recommend using suexec to achieve that effect. This, of
course, can be its own headache, but the docs are pretty good on the
subject.
