Oh okay I tried your way and deleted the passwd file and refreshed it again
with Qmailadmin and it worked fine.
but the only problem is I got like 50 accounts and to have to do that to all
of them and then to keep re-doing it every time I need to change a password
is crazy.
There has got to be a permanent fix?
Thanks
Mike

Subject: RE: Password Errors

Hello... I had that problem once and this is the help I got.... there are
two possible solutions in this message.. The one I propose which is deleting
sqwebmail-pass file and the one Francis P. Ling propose...

Mine works fine Ive never tested the Francis P. Ling propose so I cant tell
or guarantee anything about that...

Any way this was the conversation...

Hello, I've qmail, qmailadmin0.38 and in all my accounts I cant change
the password not by qmailadmin and not by /home/vpopmail/bin/vpasswd
command.
No error is displayed and the commands seem to work properly but they
dont..

Any ideas???

Thanks

OK, I think Ive an idea of whats going on....

Im using sqwebmail 1.0.3 too and I found that sqwebmail manage a file
 named sqwebmail-pass in
/home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/user/Maildir/sqwebmail-pass, this file
has a password that is the same one as when the account was created.
When changing password with /vpasswd command or qmailadmin only the
password in /home/vpopmail/domain/domain.com/vpasswd is updated but not the
one in
sqwebmail-pass file, this causes the Pop3 service to be updated with the
new password but the web (sqwebmail) service is still using the old
password.
The funny thing is that when changing the password via sqwebmail (in the
preferences menu) that script updates both the
/home/vpopmail/domain/domain.com/vpasswd and the sqwebmail-pass file.
This causes both, the Pop3 service and the web service, to have the same
 password.

The question is.. Is there a patch for qmailadmin or qmail command that
makes the change in both files so that the command vpasswd and qmailadmin
works fine.????

PS.- If any one is having this problem maybe is good for you to know that
im solving it by deleting the sqwebmail-pass file under de Maildir directory
of the user and then changing the password with qmailadmin or vpasswd
command.
This causes the creation of the sqwebmail-pass file with the new password
and both services (Pop3 and web) work correctly.
Thanks for advanced

You should browse the http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ for
the answer. It's related to the vpopmail.c file.

OK, to be quick, changing all the TmpBuf1 to TmpBuf2 and recompile
vpopmail. Make sure you do the "make distclean" before running the
 configure again.

 Best of luck!

OK, sorry for asking to you to beat around the bush ... vpopmail.c lines
1729 to 1733 only!

****************Your message*********************************

I have Qmail Admin ver qmailadmin-0.45 And sqwebmail ver sqwebmail-1.2.5
And when using the Admin tool I changed a password on an email account. The
change was updated and everything worked okay but Sqwebmail will only
accept the old password and will not see the new password. Any Ideas as to
what would cause this?
Thanks
Mike
