Hi Rick,

Sounds like you have some cleanup work to do. Generally, I think any developer
would much rather include a patch that is clean, clear, and works in as many
different environments as possible under as many different circumstances as
possible with a minimum of confusion on the user's part.

If you really want your patch included, I'd suggest that you make it as clean
as possible so that the packagers don't have to do any work. And beyond that,
make sure it works for everyone's needs, not just a limited subset of the
community. Generalization will get a patch included pretty quickly, I think.

As I mentioned before, my code just drops in, and it works all the time,
no matter what. I just have to get off my butt and make a patch. I'm personally
just wondering how much time I have to make that patch.
