Hi Scott,

I encourage you to read the archives, particularly over the past couple months, as there has been a tremendous amount of discussion of SA integrated with QA.  No sense reinventing the wheel.

I encourage you to subcribe to the qmailadmin-devel mailing list (https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qmailadmin-devel) as we'll likely be having extensive discussions of "how to best implement SA" over there as it pertains to QA.

cheers,

Subject: [qmailadmin] Me - Introduction.

Folks,

I’d like to introduce myself.  I’m doing part-time/volunteer work for an ISP that uses the Qmail/QmailAdmin/vpopmail/SquirrelMail/MySQL combo..  (under FBSD)

I’ve been working on integrating SpamAssassin.  It works – assassinates spam quite well, but is rather unwieldy to administer on a per-user/per-domain basis.

I’m putting together a “mini?” project proposal – to build more detailed SpamAssassin configuration into QmailAdmin.  I spoke with Tom this morning and he seems agreeable – to bundling the functionality into QmailAdmin, rather than establishing it as an independent admin tool.  I should have the mini-proposal ready’n’posted in the next 2-3 hours.

I don’t know what component(s) of this I’ll be trying to code myself – I’m more of the point and click administration type myself (thought I do have time to self-educate right now..)

What I do hope is that if any of you are thinking about this kind of interface – or currently working on it, that you’ll let me know where to contact you – or you’ll contact me directly.

For these beginning steps – as I’m new to the open-source community, I can probably focus on the “right” features and approach to this all with a little telephone chat, as opposed to email.

What I did with Tom is this; he called me and I called him back – so that I’m assuming most of the cost.

If any of you have suggestions or advice that you can share with me, you can reach me at (416) 481-9794 (my home).  I’m in Toronto, Canada.  It’s GMT-5, so please try not to call at 4am my time.  *grin*

My Thanks.

Scott Davis.
