Ok… I too am having a similar problem as Don Walters.

I have vpopmail and qmailadmin all installed.  My issue is:

I have created a virtual domain and a user inside that domain.  This user was NOT able to login.  I tried telnet localhost 110 and still no luck.  However I was able to log into the pop3 server with a username and password of a full account.. (not a virtual).  I changed the /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-pop3d/run to use vchkpw instead of checkpasswd.  This fixed the problem of the virtual user not able to log in… However, now the regular user is not able to log in.  I know my box is a little screwy right now.

Let me give a little summary and a couple username to make this easier (mind the names).

Bug:  real user, full shell logon.  Can receive mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Humpy:  virtual user, in virtual domain rittechcrew.com.  When I try to send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] I get the following the /var/log/qmail/current:

and the return email I get is:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at rittechcrew.com.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

So to me it looks like I got a few things going on.  But I am just starting to get so lost in this.  I really hope I can get this solved.  Thank you!!!
