I haven't heard of VMMI, but looking at the website (http://daniel.lorch.cc/projects/vmmi/) it looks like it is a front-end for VMailMgr (http://www.vmailmgr.org/).
I took a look at it, and it has a nice look and feel in some parts. Since it's GPL (and LGPL?) we could re-use some of their graphics and page layout if we were so inclined.
For example, I like that the login screen has a popup for language. I'd consider updating QmailAdmin to include a popup that defaults to the browser's preferred language, but would allow the user to override it.
Logging in with an email address is nice, and just using the domain name for admin logins (instead of [EMAIL PROTECTED]) is nice as well.
