For IDX to be enabled in qmailadmin, you should have a file /opt/ezmlm/ezmlm-moderate. If you don't, specify the directory where ezmlm-moderate (and the other ezmlm programs) are installed.
If you had looked at the output of configure, it would have said "ezmlm idx = no", which would have told you that there was a problem with the setup.
