Hi there, > Can anyone help me with setting vpopmail.
Yes; maybe the vchkpw list will do better. This is the qmailadmin list. > 1. After installing all the rmps supplied by [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a mailing list. A mailing list supplies a discussion platform, not RPMs. Where exactly did you get these RPMs (URL)? > " file permission error > /home/vpopmail/domains/macaleoni.com/sualila/Maildir/1069273396.qw > " Where, when? > Below are the permisions I have on the directories and > files: If _you_ had to set these permissions, something is badly broken. In a working setup, vpopmail will do this all by itself. > 2. Also, I have found that everytime I add a virtual > domain, the user and group being authomatically > assigned are: 407 and 426, instead of vpopmail.vchkpw. vpopmail obviously thinks his user and group ID are 407 and 426, which in turn is a good explanation why it cannot create files in your directories. > Can someone direct me to how I should set vpopmail to > that I can automatically get the right u+g and owner > perssions each time I add a domain and its user. Delete the RPM, install from source. Maybe the RPM is broken, or you did something wrong with it. I can't tell without the knowledge of which RPM you used. Inter7 provides only the source, no RPMs. What you installed is obviously an unofficial package. > 3. Lastly, do I have to set a .qmail file for every > user in vpopmail? No. After setting up the domain you can use vpopmail's command-line utilies to manage your user base. Jonas
