Solved: the problem was with two .qmail files which were broken symbolic links. When I asked vpopmail to show me all my forwards (valias -n) it does, but when I asked him to show the forwards and their destinations (valias -s) it can't accomplish my request for the broken symbolic links, ad so chose not to answer anything at all... in fact quite a confusing choice (an error message would have been better!), but this concerns vpopmail and not qmailadmin, so perhaps you are not interested... ;-)
