Seems like you have firewall started on your server. Please disable the
firewall, meanwhile double check that SeLinux is disable as well.
service iptables stop
chkconfig iptables off
restart qmail with qmailctl stop then qmailctl start
then try send and receive again.

Can anyone recommend where I might start looking? I've read through the
/var/log/qmail/<imap4><send>/current logs, as well as the settings in
/var/qmail/control but have not seen anything that jumps out at me.
