Ok something is not right. I don't have in-house DNS at least not
external. I have internal. My external is dyndns. I put the spf
txt record in dyndns.
Is this lookup on my server if so should I put the record there?
no, you were right the first time - the SPF record needs to be on
your external nameserver. unfortunately, i believe your dyndns
account is misconfigured.
use a tool like dnsreport.com to check your domain:
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=thedacus.net
this will reveal a number of common dns problems; near the bottom of
the page you'll see that dyndns is not successfully publishing any
SPF records for thedacus.net. you'll need to fix that before you can
proceed.
