Ok something is not right. I don't have in-house DNS at least not external. I have internal. My external is dyndns. I put the spf txt record in dyndns.

Is this lookup on my server if so should I put the record there?

no, you were right the first time - the SPF record needs to be on your external nameserver. unfortunately, i believe your dyndns account is misconfigured.

use a tool like dnsreport.com to check your domain:

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=thedacus.net

this will reveal a number of common dns problems; near the bottom of the page you'll see that dyndns is not successfully publishing any SPF records for thedacus.net. you'll need to fix that before you can proceed.
