Looks good Jake. Thanks for all you do.

I finally have finished testing my backup and restore scripts. For the attention deficient people, it's available here:

It's also available on my website (along with some other info): http://jakev.com/qmail/

For the rest of you, here's my ramblings:

I rewrote both scripts over the holidays. I didn't get as much time to work on them as I wanted, but who cares. The backup script was changed and streamlined a little more. Brent Dacus had made a change to the script to fit his needs and sent me a copy, so I incorporated his change into it. (He fixed the directory listing when it sent you the email notification). I also fixed the curl'ing option, so it now actually works. Enter your FTP info, turn the option on, and every night (or whenever you run the script) it will FTP the backup file to a different location for you. You might want to take a peek at the file size before you implement this, though. My backups are usually 900 Megs or more, and I'd hate to see someone try and shove that across a ISDN (ha!) connection or something. Anyway, Brent also wanted to delete the previous backup file when the script ran, so I added an option for that, also. All of the options are set in the top of the script, under the version comments. Everything should be commented well enough for any changes you may need to make. Just let me know what changes you made, and if they look like something other people will want, I'll add them in.

The backup script was also streamlined. I removed a lot of the stuff for older versions of Toaster, so be aware this is for new versions only. I did leave the command to convert the old .qmail aliases to the new database format, but it's commented out. Uncomment it if you need this for some reason. The backup script ran great for me on a Cent 4.2 machine. I did a test (with a 10M backup) and it restored everything in about 35 seconds on a 2.4 Intel with 512M of DDR. There's more info/comments on my site (http://jakev.com/qmail/), and as usual, if anyone has any comments/suggestions send me an email off-list.
