you only edit "MYSQLPW=your-mysql-password" in the qtms-svcs.sh
script. Not sure what you mean by secret. Follow the instructions
closely.

Id recommend not running the firewall.sh script. That killed all
communication for me. You can always run it after the box is
running.

Leave it with no firewall until youre sure nothing else is wrong.

Unfortunately I'm getting the same result:

'Page cannot be displayed' from another machine and 'The
connection was refused when attempting to contact IP-Address from
the box itself.

Starting from a clean install of Fedora Core 4 I ran 'yum update'
and then downloaded the scripts into /usr/src/.
Current-download-script.sh
fdr40-deps.sh
mysql-setup.sh
current-install-script.sh
I ran the download and fdr40-deps scripts, started mysqld and set
it to start on bootup.
edited the password and 'secret' in mysql-setup (password is set
to the same as the root password for the server) edited the
distribution identifier in the install script.
Ran the mysql script and then ran the install script.

I tried to connect directly as below and then tried after
re-booting....

I'd be really grateful for any suggestions as to where I'm going
wrong.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.

Thanks Lynn,

I'm just watching the install script run having re-built the
server from scratch. (Fedora Core 4).

I changed the password and the 'secret' this time. It seems to be
running a bit longer too.

I tried the http://127.0.0.1/admin-toaster/ form the box but got
the same response.

Hopefuly I'll have one more try before bedtime.

Kind regards,

Mark.

the password is now 'your-msqld-root-password' , if that helps.
And that should still work fine since the script wouldn't care.
Its a security risk though..

Read somewhere that its a bad idea to change the other password.
But I suppose if it's done properly...

might try http://127.0.0.1/admin-toaster/ from the centos box if
you installed the GUI.

I ended up installing Centos and QT many many times just learning
what makes the install scripts happy, and unlearning some things I
learned from other distributions.

Subject: [qmailtoaster] Re-Building again :-)

I found that I could not connect to the URL
http://your-server-ip/admin-toaster/ supplied by Gabriel and
eventually realised that I had not replaced the
your-msqld-root-password with my own password in the
mysql-setup.sh script.

(I can ping the box from my network and it can browse the web ok.)

I managed to change the root password manually after a bit of
research but then realised that the password for the databases set
up by the script might not match now.

Should (or must) this password be the same as the system root
password?

I imagine that it's also necessary to replace the word
'SsEcRrEeTt' with something secret? or should this word be left
unedited?

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.
