Hi Shai,

I just did exactly what you are doing exceept that the new server was at a
remote location.

I used Jakes scripts for the mail server and wrote a backup script for
web, file and logging services. I did a restore on the new server. Then,
after stopping web and mail services on the old server, I did a quick
rsync to ensure that everything on the new server was current before
bringing it online.

It was really easy and the site was only down two hours. Most of that time
was for the root dns servers to update.
