yes i have turned the authentication in the kmail right and i have also tried to connect it from a windows box with MS outlook express, but still it gives the same error message, maybe i think is there something like domain is not allowed ?? or mail server is not configured..

We'll need to see some diagnostic information. Do these commands from
the command line, and post the results, please:

qmailctl stat

tail /var/log/qmail/smtp/current | tai64nlocal

tail /var/log/qmail/send/current | tai64nlocal

You did turn on authentication in KMail, right? I've never use that one,
so bear with me if I ask redundant questions.
