Try open port 53, for DNS queries.....
If you try telnet localhost 25, what's the result?

i am currently using a brand new server with only one domain on it. my
problem is that the pop3 login takes so long with outlook and other
clients. what can i do against that. i made no changes in the config
files. bind is not running. the firewall also blocks port 53
what to do?
