For my situation, I will go with auth smtp on another port.

I have started another smtp service, without rbl, on a non standard port. The new smtp service has auth-smtp so only authenticated users can relay. It is working well.

Now for my next question. Is it possible for this new smtp service to not to take in any messages at all? That means to say, even if some server were to send any email to the new port, it will not take it and delivery. So spammers will not be able to send spam to my users using the new port. Since there is no rbl on this smtp service.

So the only function for the new smtp service is to only accept emails from authenticated users and no one else.

I hope I was clear in the request.
