Unfortunately, the same problem cropped up again after running through your pointers.

 

At this point I think a reinstall will be quicker than debugging the problem, fingers crossed. Ive saved copies of the corrupted databases, and the error messages, and will delve deeper into it should it appear again.

Shooting from the hip, I would say drop the DB, create it again (and
give it the proper permissions), then reinstall vpopmail-toaster so it
builds the tables as needs be. You should not have to reinstall anything
else, AFAIK.
