Hi, I am also running CentOS 4.3, but it's 64bit edition. I used Jake's menu driven install script to install qmail-toaster.
Jake specifically built his scripts for CentOS, visit his site and script here: http://jakev.com/qmail/ Go to the section that says "Install Script" and download it and run it. In my experience, you may still need to be acquainted with this guide: http://www.qmailtoaster.com/info/EZ-QmailToaster-MailServer.txt Because the menu-driven script wasn't perfect for me. I had to manually do something as well, but it was not hard. I think I only had to download a few things and move them around manually. Most problem arose for me was because of the 64bit architecture I believe. Good luck! I've trying to install qmail for several weeks and when it's not a thing it's the other. I had qmail in another server installed from the scratch with the system and everything was fine with 0 problems, my nightmare started when I changed to another server and they installed just CentOs without Qmail so I have to install it.
