I asked my boss, and he said that the problem was there was one particular instance of spamd that was drawing almost 100% of the CPU's time. That doesn't appear to be something we could fix by lowering the number of messages the server will try to process at any given moment.
How can we throttle it so that a single instance of spamd can bring the loads up to 45-55+? Thanks!
