Sorry,_I_wasn't_able_to_establish_an_SMTP_connection._(#4.4.1)/
I just recently installed qmailtoaster on centos4.3. Everything is fine
except sending to my account in my ISP.
Sent to gmail, yahoo, etc. and they are all fine. Sending to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
doesn't work. I am able to receive e-mail also.
Checked optonline.net on www.dnsreport.com
mx1.optonline.net claims to be host mta23.srv.hcvlny.cv.net [but that host
is at 167.206.5.184, not 167.206.4.77].
mx2.optonline.net claims to be host mta19.srv.hcvlny.cv.net [but that host
is at 167.206.5.113, not 167.206.4.79].
Tried to telnet to both of those mx's and I was unable to. But sending
e-mail from gmail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] works! So I don’t know why I am not
able to.
I had a similar problem with sympatico.ca. They have a DNS MX record,
but it points to a completely different domain. I had to set a static
route to get that one to work.
As far as their setup... They're not listing a valid IP address to send
emails to, from what you're saying. Has nothing to do with sending
emails from their domain. Don't even need a MX record for that.
I tried to telnet to 167.206.4.77 and got through fine. Running a Sun
system for email.
