Hi, After some reading on the web I managed to add the domain in something called PUNYCODE format (There is also a format called RACE), but I am now unsure how this actually is working. When I created a test user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and sent a mail to that address it worked. But when I try to send a mail with the real domain name, qmail complains about illegal characters.
It seems like that the client needs to do the translation before the mail is passed to the MTA. That is not what I wanted, then everyone that sends an email to my domain have to have an email client that support IDN!!! Can anyone confirm this behavior? I can only find 4-5 year old discussions on the net regarding IDN and very little about what have happened since that. Most web browsers seem to have support for IDN but not Microsoft!!! //Henric -----Original Message----- From: Erik Espinoza [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: den 13 april 2006 23:17 To: [email protected] Subject: [qmailtoaster] Re: unable to add domain with special characters Hello Henric, I have no experience with special characters in domain names. But correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the special character translate to ascii characters when you use IDN (international domain names). If this is the case, have you tried to add the plain ascii version.
