Has anybody setup High Volume Server with qmailtoaster ?
Can you pls guide me on this
Depends on what you mean by high-volume. one of my setups processes
(including spam) 20,000 emails a day.
If you're looking to setup something like an ISP would use, check out
Bill's website (http://shupp.org/maps/ispcluster.html). He has some
good info. I'd started to set up a cluster install, but that ended up
being more work than I wanted to do for free.

Yesterday, a pretty typical day, saw the following on my regular mail
server (not the bulk mail server for the mailing list):
191,010 emails sent (send log)
185,841 emails received (smtp log)
if that is high-volume enough for you, I am running on a Dell PowerEdge
2850, Dual Xeon 3.0GHz, 2GB RAM. Here is what top looks like right now:
top - 09:16:47 up 1 day, 19:40, 1 user, load average: 0.14, 0.22, 0.17
Tasks: 147 total, 1 running, 146 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Cpu(s): 0.2% us, 0.1% sy, 0.0% ni, 99.8% id, 0.0% wa, 0.0% hi, 0.0% si
Mem: 2074748k total, 1468212k used, 606536k free, 578064k buffers
Swap: 4192924k total, 144k used, 4192780k free, 434636k cached
That is pretty typical. The "spike" up to 0.22 was my running the
greps against the logs for this email. I am also running munin as a
server on this machine and monit to watch not only its processes but to
ping all the processes on my other machines as well.
I can't wait for Xen to become stable. I would love to partition this
machine and use it as a mysql database replication slave.
Regards,
W
