Hi Nick,

I don't have /var/log/qmail/smtpd/current, just /var/log/qmail/smtp/current.

Is that maybe the problem? Shouldn't it be smtp instead of smtpd?

I'm certainly not seeing the message. What module does it come from?
Any idea why it's not getting there?

Thanks for your help. If you're too busy, I could look into it. My C debugging isn't up to your level though, I'm sure.

Hi Erik,

It looks like ther reject, or error, should be posted in:

    /var/log/qmail/smtpd/current

Nick

Hey Nick,

Did you ever find where these messages should appear? I looked in
/var/log/maillog and found nothing.

Hi Eric,

It should give you a log notation. I will look at the code when I have a
spare moment to see where the error should appear. Might end up in
/var/log/maillog (since it's not in ~/qmail/smtpd), but I'm not sure.

Regards,

Nick

I had some email being erroneously rejected due to SPF checking, and
had
the darnedest time figuring out what was going on, as there is no smtp
log message indicating and SPF rejection. Antonio Nati (chkuser author)
on the chkuser list pointed me in the right direction.

Shouldn't there be a log message when an SPF rejection occurs?
