Hi, I've attached the two scripts that I use to automate this process (both are modifications of the work of others). The first script, exatt, is a little Perl script that extracts attachments from Email messages. The second script, learn_spam, does the actual learning and clean-up.
I place the exatt script in the /usr/local/bin directory. The learn_spam script can either be executed manually or as a cron job. You will need to modify the DOMAIN_MATCH and SPAM_MSGS_DIR to match your environment. Please note that Outlook 2003 seems to have lost its "Forward as attachment" feature. This must be enabled under tools->options, preferences tab, E-mail options button. Change the "When forwarding an attachment" configuration to be "Attach original message". Please let me know if there are any problems with the scripts, as I only started using them about a week ago. You'll have to have your users forward the messages to your spam account as attachments. Then, set up Outlook Express or something, and set up the spam account on it. when your users send you messages, drag the attachment into a mail folder (ie: Spam). Then run the sa-learn script on those messages. --------------------------------------------------------------------- QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted <http://www.vr.org> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
