Ok I am responding to my self now :)
The whole problem was that when I got back into the office this morning
after having initiated the upgrade script was that I hit a key on the
keyboard which stopped the upgrade script and from there on out shit hit
the fan, is there not a chance that the upgrade script could ask if you
want to automatically upgrade all packages or manually choose what
packages to upgrade during the start of the script? would make life so
much easier.
