I have a successful qmail toaster running on a host with it's own unique
IP. Nothing interesting there :)
But I want to move the mail server to a different machine with a
different hostname and diff IP addy. qmail toaster is successfully
installed on the new machine but has no vpopmail database. Both
machines are in the same domain (mine) and are only a single IP octet
different (going from .3 to .8)
I've been looking over Jake's backup/restore script, and I'm certainly
going to put it to good use (and adding the /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp*
files -- do I need to copy over the *.cdb file, too?).
But are there any things I should be aware of before making this leap?
I was looking through the /var/qmail/control files and saw some
references to the old hostname and IP. Anything there that's gonna
clobber me?
Thanks guys -- great product, I love it!
Michael
ps. if it would be significantly easier/less risky, I could leave the IP
the same and create an alias in my new machine's DNS configs, but I want
to get rid of the "mailtest.wletc.com" hostname and just have a
"mail.wletc.com" on the new server.
