At the prompt type the following:
$ host -t txt domain.com
This will tell you when a domain does or does not designate spf.
SPF Records:
$ host -t txt gmail.com
gmail.com text "v=spf1 redirect=_spf.google.com"
No SPF Records:
$ host -t txt kpla.com
