EE,
I'd like to (safely) add this 'fix' to the upgrade script.
Is there some way I can tell, perhaps by interrogating some .qmail
file, when this should be run on an upgrade?

Last Friday I upgraded a mail server to the latest qmail toaster
packages. Overall the upgrade has been successful, but I seem to have
lost the ability to use dot-qmail(.qmail) files. I can create them, but
the are ignored. What is required to get them working again, or what
else can I use to do everything dot-qmail files can do?
If you look at the restore script, you'll see this line commented out. I
had actually upgraded packages when I wrote the restore portion, but
it's so infrequent that someone needs that anymore. It was to upgrade
from the packages about 18 months or so ago. The old aliases and
forwards used a "." file instead of being in the DB. I don't remember
the naming convention for them, though. I'll look to see if I have the
packages from that timeframe on CD still, but I doubt it.
I suppose that to do it right, I should:
.) check to see if there are any forwards in .qmail
.) if so, check to see if the forward is in mysql
.) if not, run dotqmail2valias
Would that work?
Should the .qmail file be removed after dotqmail2valias is run?
I suppose this isn't a very high priority at this point.
