Were a small ISP here and I want to allow our clients to use my toaster as their smtp since we are providing them internet connection. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eric "Shubes"" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I don't think you want RELAYCLIENT specified for these ip addresses. You have essentially an open relay configured in this manner. Remove RELAYCLIENT for these entries, and smtp-auth will verify their account and password, and mail will be scanned.

this is my tcp smtp file

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private"
:allow,BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT="50",CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT="10",DKVERIFY="DEGIJKfh",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmai l/bin/simscan",DKQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue.orig",DKSIGN="/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private" a.a.a.a:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan" b.b.b.b:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",BADMIMETYPE="",BADLOADERTYPE="M",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/simscan" your right eric local mails should not be scanned with spamassassin but if a.a.a.a and b.b.b.b tried to send to other domains spamassassin will not scanned...is this ok ?

Manny

Hi To All,
Im having problems with spamassassin it does not work for RELAYCLIENT (tcp.smtp) some of the headers below , mail that came from outside is getting scanned by spamassassin but not if it came from my RELAYCLIENT. Do you have any workaround for this ?
 Received: (qmail 18499 invoked by uid 89); 19 Aug 2006 14:24:04 -0000
Received: by simscan 1.2.0 ppid: 18494, pid: 18495, t: 0.0664s
         scanners: attach: 1.2.0 clamav: 0.88.3/m:40/d:1677
 Thanks,
MAnny

This is the way it's supposed to work. RELAYCLIENT should be set for local clients only, which for most people doesn't need to be checked for spam. What do you have in tcp.smtp?
