I have a current toaster running very nicely.

I have three questions regarding the following log excerpt:

1) Why the 11 second delay between starting the session and the first CHKUSER message? I'm guessing that this is how long it's taking to check the 7 RBLs I'm using (listed on the wiki).

2) Why the status 256 from tcpserver?

3) The simscan log message comes 4 seconds after the corresponding smtp session has ended. Why is that? There's apparently nothing else running on the box at the time.

When I look closer, I see that simscan took 3.5 seconds to process. So it appears like tcpserver ends the smtp session just about the time it hands the message off to simscan. Curious to see if the message has a simscan header or not, I go to look at the message. To my dismay, it's not in the user's mailbox. It appears to have vaporized.

Any ideas what could be happening here?
TIA for any insights.
Seems there is a rash of people who have mail missing problems. I personally have not had this problem on my machines (yet), so I'm wondering what the differences are between them. Eric, I know you're using SURBL, which I am not. This may be where some of your time (11s) is being spent. Want to try turning this off for the time being for troubleshooting? This may not be related to the problem that Nate is having - I'm not sure if he's running SURBL or not....
