Sender -> Sending SMTP Server -> QmailToaster -> You
When the "Sending SMTP Server" sends a virus to the QmailToaster, the
QmailToaster rejects the message with an error 5xx (hard reject)
stating that there was a virus. The "Sending SMTP Server" gets the
error, instead of an okay, and is responsible for reporting this to
the Sender. A worm or virus will simply drop the error 5xx, while a
real smtp server will report. This is how we keep from spamming others
with rejections for e-mail they never sent.
If you must be notified, you can set up a program called qmail-scanner
modified.Available here: http://toribio.apollinare.org/qmail-scanner/
This is unsupported in the QmailToaster, as it contributes to more
spam with the false rejections.
