Michael,
The new upgrade script backs up and restores /var/lib/squirrelmail and
/var/spool/squirrelmail directories in their entirety. These are
presumably
all configuration/user type files. While you're at it, can you verify
whether or not this is the correct thing to do regarding squirrelmail on
upgrades?
Yeahman, I can do that.
Eric,
It appears that /var/lib/squirrelmail has all the user prefs stored
under: /var/lib/squirrelmail/prefs --- "prefs" is the only item in
the /var/lib/squirrelmail directory. This dir contains all user
preferences, address books, etc.
The /var/spool/squirrelmail has a single directory (only, no other
files) called "attach" and it appears to have messages 'sent' by
the user (via squirrelmail) but not actually sent out smtp. One might
think that it has only email attachments, but looking at one of the
files under ./attach/ shows the message itself.
Hmmm...examining closer shows a message that was inbound for a user but
I guess that user has not "checked" their inbox yet, so, hey, that's
what a mail spool directory is for, right? :-)
Please let me know if I'm done any good here...
:-p
