Eric,

It is my understanding that it is not necessary to use the "Use secure
authenication" parameter with a secure connection. I checked this in the
past with Ethereal and did not observe any passwords being transmitted in
clear text.

I seem to have pop3-sll working ok from Thunderbird.

However, when I check "Use secure authentication", I get "Mail server does
not support secure authentication".

What am I missing?
