Seems like a pretty close tie between people who want two and people
who want just one single list.
I think a compromise would be two-fold:
- one, making sure that those who respond to spanish-language posts
mention, first, that the list prefers English, and that it's kinda
rude to just jump in there in Spanish, ignoring the majority of
participants, and pretending it's a Spanish list. This may not be the
intention, but that's the impression I get (I see very little "sorry
for not posting in Eglish").
- two, that the respondents kinda translate the gist of the request
into English, and respond with an English translation, to allow the
English speakers to benefit and participate as well.
The only benefit I see to a Spanish list is that I worry of a repeat
of other communities - whereas somehow, now that Spanish speakers
seem to have found out about the list, start to grow in numbers,
until it's a nearly Spanish list. This may be an irrational concern,
but I've seen it happen before, sporadically (in other languages),
and it may be good to be pro-active.
Just my $0.02.
