Well, if it means anything; the domain this isn't working for was
"migrated" from another, older toaster of ours.  I don't have all the
facts about how we did it, it was done by another sysadmin here, but I
wonder if that wouldn't be why all of a sudden, another address could
not be added with a period (there are others in that domain with
periods, brought over from when it was all created on the old toaster).

By the way, they didn't hit their limit of e-mail addresses.  We gave
them 81, and they're only using 70.
