Hello all, Just a quick one to let everyone know, that I've posted up a procedure with scripts that will allow you to configure a backup qmt server that will always be 1 min behind your primary server. Some of you may already have something in place but for those that don't, this is relatively straight forward and on my 2 fc 5 boxes it works without any issues at all.
Any change made on the main server including incoming mail replicates to the backup server. When mail is collected and then removed from the primary, that same change replicates to the backup. The nice thing with this, is that you don't need to worry about it, you always have an up to date backup of qmail on hand. Should your primary ever fail, you simply switch ip on the backup so that it assumes the role of primary. The backup then becomes your primary server, and once the primary is sorted and rebuilt it then resumes as your backup, by simply switching the scripts around. This is my first realy foray into scripting so please have some patience with any mistakes. There are no doubt a number of ways this can be done, but I found this to be quite simple especially with the scripts in place.
