Could be a few different reasons. Here's some:

But it looks like it's being blocked by simscan from the log. Is the
person sending an attachment? Or just a plain email? I think this one
also appears if there is a virus in the email.
If this is the only person you get these problems with, and you trust
their email, you may want to put a line for them in tcp.smtp and not
have them processed by simscan.
