Well, I just did as you instructed, and the behavior has not really
changed.
I am able to SEND *from* the affected account, and the recipients
receive it.
When I try to reply from the affected account, or other try to send
mail from the account, I receive the following:
I fail to see how and why I trigger a relay error, when all I am
trying to do is send mail, regularly.
and it works from other accounts on that same server.

Hello
Could you try this :
remove the domain from rcpthosts and put it in
/var/qmail/control/morercpthosts (create the file if it doesnt exist)
and issue the command /var/qmail/bin/qmail-newmrh
And retest
Give us the results pls
Cheers

I am experiencing the exact same problem.
Yes, my domains are in the rcpthosts file.
It seems no one else has any idea, though I am pretty certain we
are not the only ones experiencing this problem.

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
5x.xx.x.xx does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of
allowed rcpthosts
(#5.7.1)
Giving up on xx.xx.x.xx.
