I was reading about smtp-auth on port 587 just last night ... I have not tried it
but should this work?
1. in my firewall (a cisco hardware firewall ) i open port 587 to the mail server... 2. then from an outside my domain location ( at home - users on the road )
i change my outgoing mail (smtp) from port 25 ( default ) to 587
and that would be expected to work?
Yep. Works for me. You still need SMTP-AUTH, though.
