Perhaps you need to import the channel's GPG key?  For example:

    wget http://spamassassin.apache.org/updates/GPG.KEY
    sa-update --import GPG.KEY

The update downloaded successfully, but it was not signed with a trusted GPG

Glad that worked out for you. I'll add the check to future versions of QTP for the qtp-sa-update. As far as the GPG key..... It's basically saying that Spamassassin's GPG key is incorrect; I would imagine they will have that fixed soon.
