I added a couple of rules recently to a busy server and after restarting sa it took indeed a lot of time... So I ran a sa-compile -D and it turn out an error of unable to use my new file. Although it had no errors on --lint. After loosing some time on this I simply deleted all updates ans rules emporium files and runned an update, added my new file and compiled it. Suprise!!! no errors no delays... go figure... Still, no delays now :) hope it helps -- AM agmsoft(at)gmail.com
