Some packages are already in Debian: daemontools (source), ucspi-tcp (source, Debian only, not in Ubuntu), clamav, spamassassin, and I think we can use those as they are, but the rest of the packages have to be created.

we should keep all packages from qmailtoaster for easier support, I have been caught with something and didn't have time to read about packaging deb files, anyhow I'm determined to do it as soon as I have time for it
As I see it, the level of support doesn't change much if we use packages that already exist.

My current list of packages that are already in Debian via APT:

libsrs2, daemontools, ucspi-tcp, clamav, spamassassin, courier-authlib, courier-imap, maildrop, autorespond, isoqlog, djbdns, squirrelmail

This leaves these packages to be ported, unless the QmailToaster packages that have a correspondent in Debian have something that the Debian packages don't:

vpopmail, libdomainkeys, qmail, ripmime, simscan, ezmlm, qmail-admin, qmailmrtg

and on my low priority list:

   vqadmin, control-panel

Personally I don't quite see the point of porting packages that already exist in the distribution. Especially when that list is longer than the list of packages not in the distro.

If you really want to keep them all in one place, of course, nobody can stop you from doing that, but I would use the packages from the distro still when making my package collection rather than porting them from QmailToaster (which is extra work that has already been done, or so I see it).
