The dups are understandable. I'm guessing that the smtp sessions are timing
out because the load is high and subsequently scanning is taking a long
time. How long are scans taking typically?

Please post your spamdyke.conf file.

What toaster package versions are you running?

Are you seeing clamav eating your cpu?
