Ok _ I will see if it happend again.
I believe I had disabled domain keys upon my initial install

in fact here is my 'note to myself' -----------------------<

To disable domain keys:

cd /var/qmail/bin
ln -sf qmail-queue.orig qmail-queue
And then restart qmail:

qmailctl restart

>-------------------------------------------
but since then I have ran qmail new model
would domain keys STILL be disabled

and does that make a link a ?? symbolic file link from
qmail-queue.orig to qmail-queue
( i may be understanding that wrong...)
how can I test that domain keys are disabled?
should I simply do the above procedure again? - to be sure?

While Jake answered correctly (it *might* be backscatter), I don't think
he really saw the rest of the message. I don't believe this is
backscatter in this case. The message is coming from the QMT list server.

I think there are 2 problems going on here. There first is that some
posts to the list aren't reaching Jim's server. That can happen if/when
the poster's configuration isn't quite right, such as domainkey signing
misconfigured (I've seen this on my system occasionally). Jim, I would
disable domainkeys entirely in your situation. Check the list archive or
possibly the wiki for instructions on how to do that (involves changing
the symlink for qmail-queue). I would also retrieve the indicated
numbers from the list to see who they're all from. Likely just one
person, which would seem to validate my hypothesis.

The 2nd problem (which we're seeing here) is happening when the list
server attempts to send a notification of the undeliverables. I don't
know why the recipient was found to be invalid in that case. Perhaps
mysql was having issues at the time it was sent? At any rate, I wouldn't
be concerned about this problem until you see it again.

what might that mean?

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
[email protected] mailing list.

I'm working for my owner, who can be reached
at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Messages to you from the qmailtoaster-list mailing list seem to
have been bouncing. I've attached a copy of the first bounce
message I received.

If this message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe bounces,
I will remove your address from the qmailtoaster-list mailing list,
without further notice.

I've kept a list of which messages from the qmailtoaster-list mailing
list have bounced from your address.

Copies of these messages may be in the archive.

To retrieve a set of messages 123-145 (a maximum of 100 per request),
send an empty message to:
  <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

To receive a subject and author list for the last 100 or so messages,
send an empty message to:
  <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Here are the message numbers:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at ns2.qmailtoaster.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
