You will not be able to recover it, but rather reset it. Many tutorials in a google search.

THE one thing you could check though before doing that is if the old admin left the setup scripts on the machine, look and see what it is set to in there (if it is the default - and assuming you are referring to the vpop user). If it is root, juts reset it as per many google tutorials.
