Sounds like you're not set up correctly.
First thing I would do would be to change the queuelifetime to 2 hours
or so (3600). That will help flush out any messages that have been in
there more than 2 hours.
Next, install Qmailtoaster-Plus (qtp.qmailtoaster.com) since it contains
queue management tools to help you remove unwanted messages from the queue.
That should get it under control.
Next step, FIX the problem. No point in doing all that if you're not
going to fix or change things to keep it from happening again.
