If you read the article on Linux.com, they have apparently committed
to keeping it free. That was one of their points - that it would
always be free. I suspect it would shutdown before charging.

Been running it here for a couple weeks now. I put it before
Spamhaus, and my Spamhaus rejections have dropped by 80% due to
Barracuda catching them.
Seems to work really well. Wonder how long it will stay free....
