Under /var/qmail/alias you will have a couple files. They're hidden:
.qmail-postmaster
.qmail-root
Inside those files you will see what email address is defined for
each (aptly named).
You can also define .qmail-anonymous and .qmail-mailer-daemon
Thanks!
I changed all the files in /var/qmail/alias and added your two other
files.
If I run logwatch, the user [email protected] gets the following
mail:
What are the contents of the files? For mail delivered to 'root' to be
delivered somewhere else:
&[email protected]
Also check and make sure that your servername and mail.servername.com
are written before 'localhost' in your /etc/hosts file.
(I believe the & was required for outside delivery.... Dimly remember
something about that, but don't hold me to it)
I added a domain 'server6.server6' and added a forward from
'[email protected]' (tip from dnk) to '[email protected]'
Now the mail is send correctly to '[email protected]', but the From
field says: '[email protected]' (not a big problem)
All the files in /var/qmail/alias contains: '&[email protected]'
(also tried without the '&'). The mail is still send to the
'server6.server6' domain.
Strange, just edditing these files gives not the correct response.
